More about my amp. (not so) funny noises and lights.
There's a bar we play at which has a street signal light setup in the corner of the stage area. It blinks red, yellow, and green intermittently. When the yellow light blinks, there's a strange buzz that emits from my amp. Sounds kinda like a loud bug zapper.
That was the only time it occurred until Saturday. We were at a different place and my amp started buzzing constantly. The buzz is louder on distorted channels than the clean channel.
It doesn't happen at home, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with blinking stage lights? Anyone else have this experience?

Plugged into a Furman PL-8, also tried bypassing it. Also tried: using a 2 prong adapter, all 3 ground settings on the back of the amp. Sorry I didn't give more details.
is it with the same guitar by chance or all of your guitars?
Are you running it at the same volume at home though? The buzzing could be a preamp tube on its way out, certainly sounds like it, particularly if it's doing it another venue.
It could also just be RF interference, if the venue is 'noisy' in that regard then there isn't much you can do about it. Best bet would be to gig somewhere else, see if it still does it there, and verify that it doesn't happen at home at those volumes. :shrug:

Fluorescent lights can cause a LOT of buzzing right from your pickups, due to their specific and high intensity EM frequencies. Next time you're there, hit your distortion, and move your guitar around (in front of you, upside down, behind you, etc), see if that makes the buzzing sound sorta wash in and out.

Try what Leon suggested, and also try setting up your amp in different places on the stage, but at the end of the day just be glad you're not playing singlecoils. :lol:
