I got bored, folks were out, and I still suck at mic'ing amps, but in true fashion, here's how you make a £2100 amp sound like a POD 2.0

Do it again, man! Sounds like a great amp, and that's not a bad recording (that's a million times better than I could do with a cab and mic) but it's a little muffled-sounding. Sounds like if you moved the mic a bit (fuck knows where) it would kind of 'pop' into a sweet spot.

:wub: I've just been saying to Matt, a big problem I have at the minute is I either have a big ass boom stand for vocals, or a cabgrabber, and the lip on the front of my cab is JUST too wide for the cabgrabber to sit properly, so it keeps slipping

Gonna grab another stand soon though. I'll convince Mark to do proper clips soon...
I tried and tried to get rid of the muffled sound, but just couldn't.

The boom stand is no good? I have one of those, and I've been keeping it around on the off-chance I'll grab a cab. It's probably not a great one, either. It's a cheapo one from Maplins.

It's a fucking huge boomstand, which probably wouldn't be a problem if I was mic'ing a 412 under a load of isolation, but I'm micing a 2x12 under makeshift isolation (read, duvets, pillows and blankets) so it's a bit big :lol:

Just bought another one of these, since my last one mysteriously walked.

I don't have that exact one, but some sort of a mic stand like that is awesome for micing a cab.
