...and it's almost awesome. Except for the bit between the symphonic intro and the actual lyrics.

Glad to hear the heavier, downtuned stuff returning though.

Sounds like Matt might have used the 7 (at the very least a low tuned sixxer, which is equally cool) on this one which I've been wanting to hear more of for years. Song has a nice buildup to it and I could certainly dig more of this sorta stuff on the new album :yesway:
Meh. I found it totally forgettable and lacking a good hummable melody.
$20 says we'll lever hear more than the first 1:00 on broadcast coverage.

...and $50 says that section is exactly 1:00 long because Muse was asked to have an exactly one minute long intro that could be safely played on TV.

The verse is kind of annoying. :/
Well, now I know why they always say the olympics are not about winning...
Couldn't get into it. Doesn't give me much hope that the new album will be very good.
This song is hilarious. Muse are jokers, and have gone on record as saying they never take themselves too seriously, and are always laughing in the studio while working on their albums. This is so hilariously over the top and cliché that they had to have intentionally written this in the mindset of "Why on earth would they let us write a song for the olympics?"

Ahh, right. It doesn't suck, it sucks ironically. How so very droll.

Looking into it a bit more, it looks like they submitted a song (along with others) and the committee picked this one, likely to the band's surprise.

It's over the top and can't possibly be taken seriously. Not all music needs to be serious.

Makes a lot of sense, definitely lacks an Olympic feel :2cents:
Right. Most artists would be honored to write a song for the world's foremost sporting event that hundreds of nations attend. I know I'd take it seriously. Instead, Bellamy decided to use his 5 minutes of fame to make a joke of it?

Fuck 'em. They have one decent song and 30 synth-drowned shit opuses anyway.
I'll admit, sending in a song whose primary lyric is "I'm gonna win" to the Olympics is kind of funny.
Alright. This video is fucking awesome, SOLELY because of 2:55-3:05.
