Here's my approach to writing guitars solos. Once I have the backing tracks finished I just improvise repeatedly until I find something that makes me go "ah!!! that was good", then I take that detail and build the rest of the solo around that.

However, I didn't manage to pull off anything worthwhile for 5 minutes straight here, but once I shut the camera off I got some cool ideas.

I guess this is the most common approach, but if you have any other interesting ways then share it with the world :metal:

Yep..it's pretty much all I do as well... my youtube's full of that shit :lol:

..ends up helping me come up with something concise like this which I can use for my band's stuff :
