Will be here Tuesday! :yesway: I am finally ridding myself of T-Mobile's horrid coverage, and the crap T-Mobile Shadow. Tuesday I will have a Motorola Droid. :D Wirefly.com had em for $19.99 and me and the wife have been looking around to change service for a while now. I seen it for $20 bucks and couldn't say no. Hope its as great as I think it is. I know there are some other Droid users here...are there any apps that are "must have"? I've been looking on youtube at some videos of apps and stuff but haven't really seen any videos of things that I need other than the NES emulator, and a couple other things I don't even remember.

nice! TMobile isnt available where I live SO i have no real knowledge of them or their service. I would say that verizion has a good network (Bettter than ATT but ATT 3g is much faster than verizons IIRC)

Droid is a nice phone.
The Droid is indeed very nice. If only for shear raw nerd appeal get Google Sky Map. It's loads of fun.
Unless you're Jeff, you'll love it  I just loaded a new rom on my phone yesterday, a 2.1 rom with a custom theme and some other nice enhancements. This one:

I also upped my overclock from 800mhz to 900, I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm on my 3rd one!

You're doing it wrong:rofl: You're like me with the Pre, I just couldn't get a decent one. I went through 7 of them and threw in the towel, and now I'm still on my first Droid, and it's still in great condition(though I did drop it on concrete and ding up the metal bezel around the glass, but it didn't hurt anything else, still slides perfectly, works perfectly)
I've dropped my Droid twice and carry it in my pocket all the time and it still works perfectly. Obviously Jeff is cursed. :agreed:
Jeff's like me and Blackberrys.

I am definitely getting a nice cover and screen protecter as soon as it gets here...I can be pretty rough on phones. Well not REALLY rough, but they like to get scratched up in my pocket.

You don't need a screen protector dude. The glass on the Droid is just amazing! I had one, and took the damned thing off, the glass is just that fucking good.

Also, quite honestly, you don't need a case either. The metal bezel is rugged as shit, and the back is all rubberized plastic, so it's super durable.

Wow. Thats pretty awesome. I liked the lime green cover I found though. Looks like i'm going to have to wait until first of next week to order. :squint: Just looked at the status of my order....after getting 2 emails from Verizon with my new phone numbers as well as calling Verizon to change to the right rate plan, I checked my wirefly order status because I had not received a Tracking # and apparently my order is now Cancelled?! :squint: I wish I didn't have to go through Wirefly, but I can't say no to the Droid for $20, as opposed to $199 through Verizon.

Yeah no kidding  Also, if you can find a way, get a Google Voice invite, and make your GV number your permanent number. It integrates completely with the Droid, so free texting(meaning no expensive texting plan), and it even handles voice mails and calls, so it's as if your GV number is your only #. I'm paying as much as I was with Sprint because of Google Voice, it's texting made the difference.
Congrats on the new Blackberry! Love mine. :yesway:

I am indeed cursed. Love the OS (except for the copy and paste), but have shitty luck with this particular phone.

This I agree with, and I read the cases are actually a bad idea for the Motorola Droid.

He said he got a real smartphone, not a phone that happens to send e-mail fairly well but otherwise sucks. :D
