I'm hoping to help people by sharing things that I've learned, hope this is somehow useful to someone out there! :)

edit: oh yeah, and watch it in HD on youtube if you want to SEE anything!

I dig it! I have to admit, I don't use expanders of any variety (multi or wide band) very often. Now I may be more likely to try using one during my next session--if it fits, of course.

so glad you guys liked it! It was a revelation to me too, when I noticed the multiband compressor had an expander mode. I had been trying to just use a regular expander before that, and it was a pain in the butt. So I tried it out, and it did exactly what I was hoping it would! Why affect more than one frequency at a time, right?

I just want you to know that I literally just used this in a mix. Same problem too...the damn hi hat was too loud in the snare mic! But, sure enough, this worked! Thanks for the tip, brother :metal:
