Goddamn fucking dog sent it flying across the room somehow being a crackhead, and now the screen barely stays magneted down.

Better yet, replacement part from ifixit? $300

In all likelihood, he means the body of the laptop. Why else would a replacement part be $300?

Max, how bad is the actual damage (save for the lid magnet)? Is the machine still usable?

I know I shouldn't be laughing too much at the misfortune of others, but when I first read this the mental image was funner (in no small part because I misplaced the phrasing and thought you said "Goddamn fucking dog sent it flying across the room, somehow being a crackhead, and ...")

Here is a shot of the front right undamaged corner from below

And here is the front left, where the fall damage is

And the right from the front, see how the side is straight vertical?

and the left front, see how the bottom edge is pushed in

and here is the right top of the screen, normal

and the top left, see where its bent in. its also pushed forward a bit, so it keeps the screen from locking down completely.

here you can see the corner coming into contact before the rest

It still works. My main concerns are A) it wont stay closed in my laptop bag now and B) If something goes wrong with some hardware, them not covering it under warantee because of the obvious fall damage, regardless of it being relevant or not

I just spent $2k on this shit in january
