OK, thanks for all your feedback on my previous posts, I really appreciate them all. If you were me, would you keep Peavey Vypyr 15, or get a ROLAND Cube 15X instead? Bear in mind, I have never played an electric guitar, and I want something simple. I am looking for metal sound, I won't be using soft, clean sounds.
Peavey Vypyr 15's settings is too overwhelming for me!

What do you think?

Cool. These are my 'complaints' on Peavy 15: (as a newbiew, I know it is a great AMP for experienced users):

I just can't raise the volume more than 1! anything higher, and it is like a concert in a small apartment!
And when I turn it on, it makes a loud distorted noise, that I need to change it immediately to another preset.
The settings are overwhelming for me. (personal opinion, I guess)

Thanks. I know, it is a great one, but for me, personally it was kind of overwhelming. I am glad that I went ahead and exchanged it with a Cube 15X. I will be receiving it via UPS in couple of days. Thanks for your feedback.

i actually like the microcube better than the cube 30 i've played. at least at low volumes. the microcube is the perfect bedroom practice/beginners amp, imo. and yes, it definitely does metal.

depending on your budget, the blackstar HT5 is also a great affordable hi-gain, low-wattage tube amp. don't underestimate the 5W tube watts, though. that fucker is LOUD

This. I was more than reluctant to try these out, but once I did, I bought one almost instantly, and I play everything from 36 Crazyfists, to Fear Factory, to Nile. The combo's are £300 I think, dunno how that translates into $ though. All you need is a noisegate if you're planning on cranking it a little (I have mine on 1.5 for my bedroom levels and a noise gate is a fantastic idea). You can think about getting a Tubescreamer later down the line if you wanna add some more heavies to your tone.

+ 1 on both accounts. I have both amps.

@ the OP : Told you in your last post to go with a Cube. :D And seriously... you won't be able to play your Cube 15x past 1 o'clock as well. I mean, you're trading a 15 watts for another 15 watts amp... The Microcube is 5 watts and it's almost too loud for me to play at night. Headphones FTW. :yesway:
