The fucking semi slow motion montage "suiting up" style theatrical shot of JD walking into the room in the beginning of the Gojira one.

Hey look, another model of a 5150!
with all of the money you'd spend on these different 5150 models, you could just go buy a real deal 5150 and be done with it.
Looks pretty handy for jamming at home, even has more effects than the others they released. For people with a ton of gear this may be a giant meh... but lots of people dont and something like this is stand alone and a easy solution.

I think its cool that some kid can jam out with this for less than some ODs cost. :yesway:
The thick leather bound tomes inexplicably used as monitor stands in the first video was the highlight.
Gojira fan-boy checking in, yeah, yeah, that looks cool :metal:

Yeah but if it sounds great like all Neural VSts do, then why not?

Everything was already invented long ago Guitar wise, we are just getting variations of it for the past 30 years or more years ;)

No shit, right? I have no idea what it actually sounds like because it's produced to death. These demos with the 58 camera angles and 8k lighting rigs are getting out of hand.

So much miming, too. Dude even mimed the expression pedal.

Yeah, why use what's already out there, when you can buy it again for $159.95?!

I'm just trying to wrap my head around why they went through all the trouble of having such an intricately contrived setup and then didn't use Windex on the "yeah, this is totally a slick studio with big windows" letting all the nice daylight in.

That defeats the entire purpose of going HDR lighting. Never go HDR just so that people can see something that looks terrible in pristine detail.

Big Windows = FANCY AS FUCK

Big windows literally covered in handprints?
Not a Gojira fan but I'll probably check this one out. I have my 5150 sitting behind me but I rarely use it. I'm just a bedroom guitarist anymore and I've been using the Fortin NTS suite for a couple years now. Might be cool to have one based off the amp I have.
Video shot at constant frame rate instead of using hollywood cinematic tricks
Not cinematic enough, therefore sounds like shit.

Technically, miming is only part of the equation. The "polished demos" use hollywood action movie frame rate magic to sell you on the cinematic aspect.

Pantera was actually the band to popularize it for that epic guitar string shot. No joke. The Five Minutes Alone music video was first time it appeared in its modern form. Generally speaking, slower frame rate = more cinematic.

Some modern advertising is less subtle about it than others.

One of the biggest make or break things in being a youtube guitarist. No joke. There are loads of guys who have "star power", but are just shooting at constant frame rates way above 60 FPS. I'm surprised there's not a book on it yet.

Basically, it you aren't riding the frame rate and dumping frames whenever you want the strings to look like that, I'm not buying your product.

The Neural Video is not a Demo.. its a Sales Ad. I think its pretty obvious ;)

Ola video is a Demo... the other dude playing a Micro Ibanez is a Demo.
Yeah sorry, in case it wasn't obvious I'm talking about the Neural video. Haven't watched Ola's yet. I'm sure he makes it sound amazing.

I  this post.

The "brand" that these guys schill is so ridiculous. They're like the Affliction shirts of music gear.

"Do you sit at home surrounded by bound leather tomes and things that smell of vintage leather while pensively staring at capacitors with your feet propped up on inferior boutique amp heads? Well then have we got a plug-in for you!"

Dude RG guy is definitely a sales ad. That's the only reason Neural is so mocked here.

They aren't selling you a product. They are selling you a chance to be discovered.

There is no other industry out there that has such a high percentage of buyers immediately flipping around and using them for self promotion.

No one's buying this thing for how it sounds. People are going to be looking for videos and you want to have for your chance to break through into the youtube guitar big leagues.

That's how the industry works. A huge part of a products appeal is based on how many keywords it has in the title people will be searching for.

I mean, demoes aren't a selfless thing, it is what it is. Not shaming them or anything, but the marketing is semi predatory pyramid scheme stuff. No one films demoes out of the goodness of their heart, they are really effective forms of self promotion.

The Neural stuff is so hyped because their byline is "hitch your self promotion wagon to our self promotion wagon partner".

vintage leather
It's only mocked so much now because the aesthetic is super long in the tooth. It had a good run, great run actually, loads of mileage.

It's been around so long now it's super stale though. There's this whole checklist of you have to have this exact color palette and this exact panning shot.

They should retire it and let the whole "Ultra saturated HDR neutral vintage leather" aesthetic come back in the future.

The neural video would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for that damned falling leaf halfway through. Stupid fucking leaf man. If you are going to do everything so coreographed and cinematic you can't have some uncoregraphed mundane background event breaking the illusion of disbelief. That's why all the high gloss stuff is so meticulously edited with separate audio and video tracks. No one wants the hum of a refrigerator in the background. They want the neural dream windowed study. Everything was so ridiculously perfect until that one dumb leaf fucked it up.

They clearly don't have JC Penny catalogs overseas. Everyone knows that fall is the most luxurious season for ad backdrops. But you need a shit ton of leaves falling in slow motion.

That's the benefit of more casual shit. It you are going to make everything ridiculously perfect and idyllic you can't let anything that isn't ridiculously idyllic slip through, or else it makes everything else look incredibly ridiculous.

Credit where credit is do though, at least the djent guys have never gone for Steve Vai hair fans to give a tantalizing sense of motion to the scene.
