The Night Train sounds reasonably good, but it's way too expensive for what it is. I'd go Blackstar if you want an FX loop. It might also be worth checking out the Egnater Tweaker, or even a used Marshall DSL201 combo.

Really? I spent quite a bit of time with the Egnater Rebel 20 and 30 and found them unreasonably, icepick-ily bright and nasal no matter what I did with them.

You could spend ridiculous amounts of money and pick up a Budda Superdrive 18 now that they finally have European distribution thanks to being bought by Peavey!

From what I've seen of your vids, you'd love the amp. However, they are freaking expensive. I got mine used for a huge chunk off.)

How much are they? I played one yesterday, and I think I was told $1500 or something like that, I can't remember.

It did sound pretty sexy with the two Parkers I was playing, and I had an impromptu jam session with my buddy playing a Peavey electric lap-steel
1399 pounds sterling for the 1x12 combo (yay VAT), or $1436 in the US for the combo. The head is $1250.

I know a guy locally who's selling one - might have to find out how much he wants. Won't be less than 500 though - unless he's even madder than I thought.
Certainly worth a play-through if nothing else.

He's in the UK though. Mesa stuff doesn't like to change voltages.

Cornfords are amazing amps. They're ungodly pricey over here, but probably much more reasonable over there.

To be fair, I've never had any dealings with Cornford, just played a few used amps sitting in a store. Tone was great, although I'll keep my Budda.

This thread has made me lol hard.

HAAAAVE you considered, Lyle, a second hand Artisan 15? Those are sexy. as. fuck.
Those are the Blackstars that one channel is a Marshall JTM and the other is a Vox AC15, right?

Yeah, one side is EF86 into EL84s, and the other is ECC83 (12AX7) into the EL84s. Basically a Bluesbreaker-era Marshall and an AC15 in the same two-channel 1x12 box.

Volume and tone controls only, and Hi/Lo inputs. Super basic, very "vintage." I've seen them sitting at GCs but never really played them.

Blackstar Artisan Series 15 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp and more Guitar Amplifiers at GuitarCenter.com.

Also looks like you can daisy chain the channels one into the other like an old Marshall... but with no master volume, limited tone controls, and few options you're not looking at something terribly versatile for live and home use.
