Really? I spent quite a bit of time with the Egnater Rebel 20 and 30 and found them unreasonably, icepick-ily bright and nasal no matter what I did with them.
with all controls at noon, it is indeed. i run mine with the treble around 9 o'clock, mids at 10, and the bass at noon. bright switch off. it sounds very thick and warm this way. i know these settings make no sense for regular amps, but it's how this amp should sound with all controls at noon, imo.

i don't know why they voiced the EQ so strange with all at noon. maybe it's the egnater cabs?

interesting, i've never played the rebel 30. did you use a tubescreamer with it? a tubescreamer can make an enormous difference with the rebel 20 at least. especially for high gain
Nope, no pedals. It wasn't particularly high gain stuff, I was playing scottish stuff with a wedding band

You could spend ridiculous amounts of money and pick up a Budda Superdrive 18 now that they finally have European distribution thanks to being bought by Peavey!

From what I've seen of your vids, you'd love the amp. However, they are freaking expensive. I got mine used for a huge chunk off.)
How much are they? I played one yesterday, and I think I was told $1500 or something like that, I can't remember.

It did sound pretty sexy with the two Parkers I was playing, and I had an impromptu jam session with my buddy playing a Peavey electric lap-steel

1399 pounds sterling for the 1x12 combo (yay VAT), or $1436 in the US for the combo. The head is $1250.

I know a guy locally who's selling one - might have to find out how much he wants. Won't be less than 500 though - unless he's even madder than I thought.

Certainly worth a play-through if nothing else.

He's in the UK though. Mesa stuff doesn't like to change voltages.

Cornfords are amazing amps. They're ungodly pricey over here, but probably much more reasonable over there.

God, this seems like I'm shitting on everyone's suggestions, but that's not the intention at all. A friend of mine was a Cornford artist for a while - and had quite possibly the worst dealings with a company EVER with them. Rumour has it that that's the reason Richie Kotzen left them too. I'm kind of against using them with the reputation they have...
