Basically the idea's to use finger-slides, plus Frank Gambale's odd/even concept to make the whole scale sweepable. It looks weird, but it actually feels pretty good once you get it rolling.:)

I think Marshall Harrison does this a lot, he did a kind of vs between Petrucci's Chopin etude and his own version, where he did this way of fingering, probably because he is a legato nazi, the video on it doesn't seem to be up anymore.

Just thought of another version, which actually works a little better than the first, as it allows you to end on a downstroke and loop the thing without having to reorientate your picking.

How are you picking this, if you're sweeping it? Up-down-up-down?

Down-up-down-up-down-down-up-down-up-down etc. on the way up, then up-down-up-down-up-up etc. to descend.:)

The concept is interesting and certainly suits economy picks and the chromatic scale. Adding a little slide is something that I've being doing with my scalic playing to cover more fretboard recently to do 4 notes per string but I never thought of applying it to the chromatic scale.

Something like this is how I approach a normal major scale with a simular method.
