Steel has high tensile strenth. It is an AWESOME building material.

Would you now find it strange for me to opt for aluminum or bricks when building something?
Not at all. I'm just saying I know Guthrie is a proponent of mahogany, so I thought it strange that he used basswood.

See the vid I posted. Seems like he kinda likes it :shrug: :lol:

Just because I find Iga Wyrwal extremely hot doesn't mean I can't find Alyson Hannigan hot as well. You dig? :D

Yeah :) I get what you guys are saying. It makes sense. I like different tonewoods too.

When he talks about mahogany in that vid though, it seems like it's his holy grail of tonewoods. So I thought it was a bit off that he would have a basswood body is all.

Thats all well and good, but the analogy doesn't really work. Basswood is more like the Rosie O'Donnell of guitar woods :fawk:
Weren't there a number of basswood old school Jacksons and Charvels? I mean, obviously, Jackson can do no wrong if it was made before 1992 :yesway:
