Naw, this is brand new. I figured for a couple hundred bucks more, I get to noob it up myself and get the full 5 year warranty. Plus, the very nature of an impulse buy is to have it right now. :lol:
I'm perusing the owner's manual and holy shit, tube amps are confusing. There are like 20 extra switches on the back of the damn thing. :lol:

Ok, after about an hour...
I haven't fucked around with the back panel shit, so I'm talking just twiddlin' with knobs. Damn, this thing sounds fucking outstanding. I love high gain tones (think LoG) and damn does this thing nail it on channel 3 modern. It's big, it's middy, and my guitars have never sounded this good. I've been playing the 550 and the 2027 back and forth, and man, oh man, do they sound good.
The reverb has a little tone soak to it, and I think it's stupid that the controls for it are on the back. Sounds decent enough though.
I haven't really played with the cleans yet, other than channel 1 because it's the only one so far that I can dial a real no-gain-at-all tone on (again: just twisting knobs). I plugged my old Ibby EX into that, and basically got the same reaction. Damn, this thing is awesome.
And, er, yeah, holy fuck is it loud. :lol: It's HOT too. After an hour there's a good amount of heat coming out of the top vents. Should I grab a fan or something and stick it up there, or is that just the way tubes are?

Yeah, the heat thing is normal. My Budda becomes a space heater after like half an hour, and that's 1/3rd of the wattage and like 1/10th of the tubes :lol:
Also, try that TS-808 before you return it. It's great for getting a gritty clean channel or tightening the fuck out of your gainy shit. That + Nova System + Roadster footswitch from hell would pretty much cover anything you could want to do tonally.
