My friend made me an offer I can't refuse, traded for this. We may end up trading back, but this goes quite nicely with my V.

The camera on my phone is freaking out for some reason so only a few shitty pics for now.

Needs a little TLC, but i'll nurse her back to badassed ness. :yesway:

you mentioned you might trade back??? guitar of the month right there...Its not a Fender
If we decide we don't like either of them, we'll trade back and I'll seek out the original reason I was selling the SE. :yesway:

Don't think this is awesome enough to be GOTM.

yea - that's hot...what's the neck like? Thick profile or thin?
Its seems a little thicker than my V's neck, which I still prefer over any of my guitars.. but I do feel a little more at home on the Explorer than I did with the SE. Its really comfy and well balanced. Wood looks great again after a little lemon oil on the fretboard and body. I also replaced the flat head screws in the bridge pickups with black oxide hex screws....which seem to be slightly more magnetic than the flathead. I didn't notice much of a tonal difference, looks cool though.

take a photo of the V by your other gibson.

how is your friend like the PRS so far?
We're going to give it a few more days but so far I think he's kinda wanting the Explorer back. Hope he changes his mind because its growing on me. The PRS is nice, but I don't think either of us are single cut guys.

I did take a picture of both of them on the wall but my phone was freaking out last night. Hopefully i'll have better luck when I get home tonight.

Hoping he decides to keep the PRS soon so I can continue with mods. Want to throw a black treadplate pickguard on it and new pickups.

Here she is cleaned and restringed. Fretboard still looks a bit dry, way better though. I'll deal with it for now since I just put the strings on the other day. Also as you can see I swapped the bridge pickup's screws out for black oxide hex screws. Didn't make much of a difference in tone, maybe a tiny difference. The black oxide screws seem to be more magnetic than the flathead ones. I also got tired of the scratches on the pickguard and had some unused carbon fiber adhesive vinyl laying around so....

and some group shots for good measure :)

Thinking about doing the carbon fiber thing to the V too, but I need a black gibson trussrod cover to match first.
