Today after work I picked up my refurb 2014 Macbook Pro Retina.

This thing is wicked! I've only done the basics (set up some programs, use safari...) but I'm already digging it.

I haven't used an Apple computer as the "house" computer since the mid 90's when my dad had one for work.

I know there's shortcuts and cool things to know about switching from Microsoft.

I will be using Garage Band and maybe/probably reaper once I get some time to try doing some demo work again. I also want to try recording video with my Scarlett 2i4 for audio since I've never done it. Boots seems to have it figured it out so I want in on the fun :lol:.

I've been working on just my phone for a long time, this is a welcome change.

I just bought Joel's MBP the other day. This is my first Mac. So far I've got it powered on ok, but I can't get the hang of these gestures. I've tried waving at it, giving it a thumbs up, and even the wanker sign, but it doesn't do anything.

and Adam, it's weird posting from a computer. Normally that only happens when I'm already using the SO's for something else.

I like the gestures and I have to turn of that natural scrolling "feature" I find that having thing is spaces really helps my work flow so that I can have stuff at full screen and just swipe between them. I also highly recommend F.lux if you are going to be using it for long periods of time. Oh and get better touch tool to be able to have window snapping like windows and some other, more intense, control of gestures and mouse options.
