NPD: I barely need to touch this

Was looking at the Moog Theremins thought about getting one, but then came across a pedal version by Electro Faustus. Since actual theremins are big investments and require a learning curve, thought I'd get the pedal for my training wheels period for now.

And obligatory crappy clip demo.

This is the first time I heard of the company and looking at their products, they're quite insane in a good way, so it's right up my alley. As for the Photo Theremin, it' geared towards guitarists to use on pedalboards so you can use either your hands and feet to control it via the photocell beneath the switch.

The cell is pretty sensitive so there's a bit of a difficulty curve in controlling pitch and I seem to get better range using my foot. So it'll probably take some time before I go full 'Good Vibrations' control, but it's a damn fun, if potentially gimmicky. My prog band just recently met to arrange some writing sessions so I might whack this on my bass rig and get the actual Moog later down the line.

Yup, that's out there.
"potentially gimmicky"? ;)
You make that sound like it's a bad thing.
Well this is awesome. I've wanted a theremin for ages. In that clip, is that on your board running through your amp? If so, is that just straight into the clean channel?
Edit. Whoops wrong thing

Cover this.... you can handle the Plant wails of orgasmic delight

Thanks! I just ran the pedal straight to Logic, using one of the 'experimental guitar' tones, can't remember which one exactly, but definitely clean (albeit lots of delay and reverb).

I've got my Volante sitting next to it at the moment. I should try feeding it through that soon.

That was the first thing that immediately came to mind when I plugged in. Since Jimmy Page doesn't exactly use the theremin in a melodic sense, this pedal is more geared towards the 'Whole Lotta Love' sound. I sort of tried to cop that kind on my crappy clip a bit.

Once I get the prog band in a room, I suppose I can propose a Zep cover. The singer can actually hit Plant's range so...
