So the stick I ordered when I quit my band showed up today. This one is much newer than the old ironwood one i used to have (That one was made in 1983.. this one is from around 2001).
Its Padauk, at least thats what the dude told me. It looks a LOT like Mahogany, but i cant see that Stick has ever offered one in mahogany during the time this one was made. Once again, the intonation, craftsmanship and fit and finish are amazing, as to be expected from a hand made instrument. The new ones have these "Fret rails" which i can only say that Schecters come with 6100s, these have to be at minumum 14000. They're filed to a pyramid tip and rather than hammered in, fit in a diamond shaped channel under the fretboard.
The pickups are twin stereo EMG SA's inside of the stick housing. It sounds amazing so far. Now i gotta re-learn everything I ever knew about fretboard location
