Seriously, I would love to see them include something like apt-get in a future version of the OS.

I wish I had more linux in my OS X :lol:

Who agrees?

Portage and Fink don't count.

That would be pretty sleek, but it would open the door to DEPENDENCY HELL. Fuuuuck that. :lol:

Not if it is done right. I love the way that Ubuntu's apt-get and Archlinux's pacman handle things. It already grabs and installs the deps for you.

I would actually probably switch to Ubuntu if it wasn't for iWork, Logic, Plex, Final Cut, and the terrific Handbrake ripping/encoding performance.

Ubuntu's out of the box apt can kiss my ass. I have an internal website at work that runs Twiki, and I bought a new server for it (had to upgrade/patch/etc security shit) and installed Twiki via apt. Rolled my existing stuff onto it (giant pain in the ass) only to find that the version that it installed from the latest repository was about two years out of date. :mad:

Though I probably should have checked that first, eh? :lol:
