I didn't mind it at all. I think Spencer is an awesome vocalist, but this song didn't suit his style. I actually liked the drums throughout. Wasn't a fan of the guitars up until near the end though. The tone was just lacking for me.

Since we're all posting covers of one, here's one of the more 'brutal' ones.

I made it to 2:15 and then had to stop. For my personal taste, it lost all of the atmosphere and I can't stand the emo vocals. Still glad to see that someone from around here is making a good career for themselves though.

On a good set of headphones, the instruments on the album quality version of War Pigs sounds pretty damn good. The guy's vocals are just stupid. The "tough guy" vocals were to be expected but the "in absolutely no key and two feet away from the microphone" sounding thing was just totally off-putting.

I thought the guitars were insanely bright, but other than that I agree. Even more than the close-proximity thing was the fact that it was just an expressionless monotone! No style or articulations at all... lame.

I'm sure there's a billion and one people who's panties are in a bunch over hearing "screaming" on "Us and Them" by Misery Signals but, coming from somebody who's favorite band of all time is Pink Floyd and has two Pink Floyd albums in his top three albums of all time, I thought it was a unique take on it and an honest effort. :2c:
