Nope.

But, if you press "F" you can make it to where it's a gray background, but it only lets you work on one image at a time. You can also press F a couple more times.

This works on the Windows side as well. Pretty handy at times.

no probs man! hahaha, I'm not sure what option. I just started pressing keys one day to change between tools and accidentally did this. It surprised me at first. Helps with images that are bigger than your screen.

Oh yeah, and you can change the color of the background via right-click. Helps if you're making an image for a site and you wanna see how it contrasts with a darker/lighter/whatever background.

Oh yeah, and then use H (hand tool) if you wanna move it somewhere instead of the middle (or move around a large image). Not sure if you knew that already.
