In my opinion, shielding the pickup cavity is pointless, because it doesn't completely encapsulate the pickup. With the coils and the wiring shielded, doing the cavity seems rather redundant.
Agreed. Cavity shielding will only increase overall resistance of the suit.
And I also would suggest using unshielded wire for wiring pots, switch, etc. if you've sheilded control cavity and the cover for it.
