I've always heard them referred to as a Stompbox and since it is an Ellis video my guess is that he is using an Ellis Stompbox, acoustic stompbox, acoustic stomp box, pedal, box drum, foot percussion

I've seen a few guys make them and they are pretty common here in Australia. I'm not sure if the name Stompbox is an Ellis thing but that's what everyone I have talked to calls them.

I thought he looked familiar, Andrew was a little smaller when I met him, he is a top bloke and incredibly talented, give him an acoustic and a mic and he just sounds that good every time, he is also the type of guy that would rather play free for a group of friends who appreciate his stuff than a paying gig to patrons that couldn't give a shit what or who is playing.
