Just replaced a push/push pot (old one wasnt popping up smoothly). But the new pot makes a clicking noise when ever its pushed. Unless im not playing anything, if there is no sound coming out of the guitar the pot does not make the clicking noise no matter how many times i press it? BUt if there is sound it makes the clicking noise?!

Whats going on... faulty pot?

FYI its an Allparts 500k Push/Push.

Sounds like the new one has a break before make style of switch and the old one was a make before break. All this means is that you get a pop because for the split second of switching there is nothing connected in the switch so it pops back into a connection.

If thats the case is there any wiring trick i can use to reverse that? Use different terminals on the push/push?

You might be able to use a high value resistor (like 3K) between the 2 input legs on your switch to eliminate the pop.
