Nice. I had the all black version with no scratchplate and toured the life out of it. The single coils in these are killer, still have them in my Charvel and ESP MII, EMG'd the Voyager before I sold it (which I regret).

A Koa one is on my bucket list next to pornstar gangbang. :yesway:
+1, basically!

Watch Gary Holt with one (also featuring scalloped upper fretboard) in this Exodus vid:

Hunolt's guitar also has the "RBM-style" scratchplate which later reappeared on Reb's early Suhrs. There are some great pics of the two of Exodus' "H-Team" with these "Winger" guitars in one of the guitar mags of the time, ironically just as the thrash-loving Beavis and Butthead were destroying Winger...

If it's the same pickups as in the RG565 of this era, then absolutely they're amazing :yesway:

Related, here's a video from a few years later of Holt playing one, this time in his best business casual attire for the stage . Seems he played them until the early 2000s when he switched to ESP for about 5 seconds. They seem like really cool guitars, I'd love to have one.

I always thought of them like as an RG with the butt cut out and maybe some bevels, but I only recently noticed how different the proportions on the horns are. Pretty cool.

I saw an article somewhere saying Reb chose that design because he was a fan of the Steinberger GR series but I don't recall ever seeing him play one? I always had a theory about him being a Vito Bratta fan, since they're were both doing the whole 'taking tapping to another level' thing but I've never seen that substantiated anywhere either. If someone can recall an interview or something where he mentions the inspiration for the body design, I'd like to see that.

@Randy I'm sure I've read an article where he says he literally drew the body shape on a cocktail napkin and handed it to the Ibanez guys! That's Reb. :drew:  I've never seen anything linking him to Bratta, though. Alex King (rockinchippy) would know if there was anything to know.
