Been fooling around with Google sketchup a bit to design a desk that will fit in my space and give more room without taking up too much space (or breaking the bank ). I thought i'd share what i've come up with so far. I suck at sketchup, so please excuse my rendering. Going to brace everything...probably over brace it, but that's Ok. The left side of the U will have all my rack gear, the right side will be a shelved cabinet for my mics, DI boxes, etc. small things that I want to keep from getting damaged when not in use. A small monitor shelf, just big enough for two monitors, and an open space underneath. Also the rack side will have a detachable back so I can get to the wiring without pulling out any of my rack gear. (Not the full back, but a section of the back with road case latches).

Also for reference, the length of the desk will be 7 ft 3" so it won't be crowded even will the rack and cabinet on the sides.
