School me on the S7420

Anyone have one? In the market for a 7 again. Love the S shape.

Its getting harder to find a 7620 for a decent price these days. 1527's are a little more than I want to pay. S7420 seems to fit my budget and has the body shape I like.

Worried they are not MIJ.

Anyone owned one or more of the above and care to share opinions?

The older ones are MIJ but have the Lo-TRS trem which is pretty crappy if you're Steve Vai but otherwise really solid guitars. Be prepared to relearn how to hold/play it because the body is soo damn thin compared to your RG/SOloist style body.
I had the 7320 (same axe with 22 frets) and honestly, It was like they took a very nice guitar and threw a (22 fret unbound) RG7321 neck on it. Everything else about the guitar was great, but the neck fell just on the acceptable side of the OK/Not OK border wall.
I had a S7420 before, awesome guitar plays very well. I wasn't as good with a trem as I am now so I didn't have any issues with the trem or tuning so I can't offer any advice of the trem other than the guitar is pure awesome.

Just for clarification, are we talking about the new s7420 (as you said, not MIJ, 24 frets, zr) or the old one (MIJ, 22 frets, trs7)?
Had a 7420bp, really nice guitar, played really well. As has already been said, you might wanna change the bride for an OFR as the Lo-Trs is particularly shitty, and some good pick-ups will certainly help. Can't fault it from a playability point of view though.

yes, the new 24 fret version.
ah, I was talking about the old one not the new one.

Bad necks on otherwise great guitars
