"The neck is a vintage output, PAF style humbucker with an Alnico V magnet; the tone is rich and articulate. The bridge is wound hot, with a voicing that emphasizes punchy midrange, and rich harmonics.

DC Resistance: 17.7k Bridge, 8.3k Neck"

Alex Skolnick Signature Set - Seymour Duncan Custom Shop

"For a mere $300, you, too, can have a slightly modded JB/Jazz set!"
Is that what he used to use previously?

I have a sinking suspicion that I would like these. At the same time, I was really surprised how I really didn't get on with the Jazz at all.

Yup. JB/'59 set.

He had an interview where he talked about his ESP loaded with the original customs.

"The pickups are custom Seymour Duncans. They are a little riffed off the '59 and JB, but this neck pickup has a little bit more of a jazzy sound; a little more hotness than the bridge pickup. "
