So I've been trying to sell my DC-5 for a very long time (it sounds awesome but even with the attenuator it's a bit much for my living situation) and some guy on craigslist sent me a offer for one of these: S&P Showcase Series. While it looks like a nice guitar I would flip it as soon as I get it because I could use the money (other reason why I'm selling the Mesa). They usually retail for $1,200 or so with the electronics and his is the only year they produced them with ebony boards instead of the usual rosewood.

Is this a good trade? What do you think a guitar like that would go for on the used market or in a store? I'm tired of dealing with low-ballers trying to get the Mesa for $400 but I would love having a rig that was a bit more noise friendly.

Personally with this economy it could be unpredictable about how fast you could turn that guitar around for money. I say sell the amp and be done with it.
