Its a bummer, but i have trouble saying i'm sorry for him. He probably was making a good living, but he was a drugged up. Which in itself is not that bad, but when you have a child on the way, and you leave it fatherless because of your bad decisions, i cant feel very bad for him. I feel bad for his family and unborn child.

That said, i'm a slipknot fan, so it still sucks
This fails. He was a great bass player. Even if his death was through his own doing, I still feel sorry for him.
Totally sucks. I like Slipknot. But they say people die in 3's, so I was wondering who it was gonna be. :( RIP
There has been a lot of internal strife in Slipknot over the years. I wonder if they will stick together... I could see Corey and Rick saying "Fuck y'all we're doing Stone Sour full time."

I dunno. Sad news. Not entirely unpredictable but untimely :(

Dio, Paul, who else?

The Rev? Brittney Murphy's husband?
If it really was drug use, I too have trouble feeling sorry for him. Rather more for his family and child. I like Slipknot to an extent, so I certainly won't bring the "I hate this band" element to here. But the musician dying because of drugs BS is a disappointing in this day and age.

I felt the same way about Layne Staley. Loved AIC, loved his contributions to music, but really don't feel sorry for him kicking the bucket. He did it to himself. There are too many people that have made a choice to live and yet die anyway. That's truly sad.
I'm just wondering if #3 becomes #2 now, or if they hire a new #2?
Don't forget Peter Steele?!
Oh shit, I can't believe I forgot. RIP.

Hit the head on the nail here :agreed:
My guess is they won't reassign #2. They'll make a #10 if they stick around. Or #22 or something.

As if there haven't been enough "cautionary tales" of lives lost to drug addiction by famous musicians.
The "people die in threes" thing is superstition. And as a great man has said, superstition ain't the way

As far as the drug thing is concerned, yes, it's a bad decision. However, we all have made (and will continue to make) bad decisions. Some decisions are worse than others. Some you can learn from, and some will hook you. Instead of shrugging off this drug related death (and let's not forget that Steele's death was drug related as well), or saying that you don't care, try and do something more positive with it.
