I've been meaning to get around to this for a while. My old laptop died a pretty long time ago because of unknown reasons. One day it just didn't switch on at all, and no light showed at the side (as it normally would) when I plugged the charger in. Now I have a Macbook Pro but I'd like to recover the files from the hard drive of the old (Windows) laptop. Can this be done with a normal USB hard drive enclosure?

These are great too, and super cheap. No need for the enclosure, if it's a standard SATA cable HDD, this cable does the trick beautifully.
