Tell me about the Lace Drop N' Gain

Posted this on the other forum, but I'm desperate for opinions.

Basically I'm too lazy and cheap to buy and install another EMG set for my upcoming Kelly, so I'm looking for opinions on the Lace Drop N' Gain bridge pickup. Already tried several supposed active-like passives, like the D-Activators, L500XL, and the Entwistle HDN, but none came close. So I'm looking at this one now.

I had a set of Drop & Gains for while, had them in a LTD V500, my initial impressions were good, they are very hi-fi sounding and clear. They were well suited as I tend to go for picking clarity and articulation over fatness, for fast picked stuff in Drop C they worked well. As time went on though I felt like they were lacking a little bit of weight in the low end and I ended up changing over to Blackout AHB-1's. I would definitely recommend trying them though, they well may suit you if you're into what they do.
The lack of low end makes it sound like it would be close to an 81. I'm probably gonna have to give it a shot. If I don't like it, I'll just see if I can return it and get a real EMG set.
