Anyone else reading this? I know there are a lot of Dresden Files fans here.

20% in or so on the Kindle. Don't know what to make of it yet. Might be a little too young adult/steampunk for my tastes. Or maybe it just seems young adult-y since I am coming off a bunch of extraordinarily grim reading material. :immortal:

I dig it though. Fun reading, his writing is always fun to read.

I have no idea what the fuck to think about the whole role of Cats so far though. That is just a little weird. I'm sure he will explain backstory on the universe as the story progresses though.

I've been waiting on this for a while and am also in between books, so I'll go pick it up today and let you know what I think.
I was meaning to pick it up, but have not yet. I read an excerpt online a good while ago and it seemed decent.
Just finished it. Fucking great read. A third of the way in, I wasn't completely sold on the concept (and the cat thing *is* weird but he pulls it together), but the second half is really great.

It's not too much of a spoiler to say there is an aerial battle (I mean, that's the entire premise of the book) and it's actually incredibly gripping to read.

I hope the next one comes out soon.
Also, this shouldn't be surprising, since it's The Dresden Files guy, but you won't want to put it down once you get really engrossed. I marathoned the entire Dresden Files in the span of a week (still waiting for the new stuff), and once I picked it up about 35% in I had to finish it in one sitting.
I'm about a quarter of the way through it. Great writing as usual, but the cat thing is damn strange.

There was some shit in there that was really weird. Mainly the cat thing. Maybe it was too young adult for me or something. He ended up pulling it off, but it was close.

He tied it together though. The ending battle was fucking awesome.
I'm about halfway through. Story is a 6 but Butcher's writing is a 10 as usual, so I'm still enjoying it.
Finished it, loved the ending, whole last 25% or so was awesome. Butcher rules.
^Yeah dude, the ending more than makes up for the other slight weirdness. The last aerial battle is a riveting read. Seriously. I hate reading most people's descriptions of fights, but that was the bomb.

Agreed.

Was kind of hoping for more from the Monks of the Way though. That badass dude just kind of pops back up after he gets shit on and dies. :\
Aren't their two more coming? He can't keep us waiting for the next Dresden Files and the next one of these.

He's obviously foreshadowing the surface for a big reveal in one of the next books..
