ie. Not what you'd buy if your numbers come up on the lottery, more the kind of car you'd have if you didn't have to worry about practicalities of family life or had, say, a spare 10 to 15 grand kicking about.

Me? Well since I grew up in Essex close to the main UK Ford plants (Dagenham, Dunton and I even had an uncle who worked at the legendary AVO plant) it's got to be a Ford. Specifically the original 3 door Sierra Cosworth, in "Moonstone blue". Sure, it's long been eclipsed by modern produciton machinery, but 25 years ago it was pretty much God on wheels. The first turbocharged production car to exceed 100bhp per litre from it's engine, 0-60 in 6.2seconds and a top speed of 143mph were seriously impressive in 1985. Hell, that's pretty good now!

As a child I dreamed of big wings (the infamous "whale tail") and even bigger boost, with the racers pumping out over 500bhp. The fact that it's possibly the most stolen car of all time shows just how desireable the Cossie was and is. A rough one can be had for £3000-ish up to £10,000 for a minter. The limited edition RS500 can get as high as £20,000, but a nice "regular" Cosworth for about £8,000, with about 350bhp would do my nicely. I'd have to change the ultra-80's wheels mind...

I've owned both a Dodge Viper and a Lotus Elise and can assure you these types of things are way more affordable in 1:18 scale formats.

F.O.R.D failure or repairs daily ;)

I loved that car btw, was at least four of them locally. Or two real ones and a couple of wannabe cosworths.

I'd dig one of these:

Or one of these, if I could find one unmolested.

Unfortunately, finding a Supra that hasn't been riced to death is impossible. :(

Going to have to go with M3. I could not swing a new one right now but I would own a used one now (2006-2007) if I did not have to worry about Canadian winters.

PS- There is a supra here in town that has not been riced to death for 9k. I think it was 9k. I keep thinking about how fun it would be but all of my money and money I do not have will be sunk into a wedding soon.

You won't find an E92 M3 for anywhere near $15k, that's for sure.

A buddy of mine is selling an 01 M5 for 15, actually. 100k miles, and it's friggin' SICK. Here it is, flanked by mine and Steve's snobmobiles.

(Shock and awe, mine has a Dunkin Donuts cup on it.)

Get it right, it's Four Old Rusty Doors

Given where I live, you can understand I've seen too many Cosworths on the roads to count, including a couple of genuine Works Escort Cosworth rally cars.

Flip Over Read Directions?

I'd like something smallish and fast in a convertible someday. A bud has a white Miata, which is fun as hell to drive, but I was told by some to not go down that road . I forget what you guys suggested?

I wouldn't turn my nose up at an M3 or M5 either, though right now I have Ford lust. My 528 has gained some alarming warning lights, which are telling me it's time to change. I really, really want a Mondeo ST200 now, and actually drove this one at the weekend.

I'm serious. I would leg hump the shit out of this car.

Mainly because i want to yell at it "BUMBLEBEE!!!!!!" and wait for that one fucking time where it decides to transform and start shooting shit. :metal:

It'd happen. :agreed:

I got to test drive a Camaro SS two weeks ago, and they let us floor it (GM promo event, no dealers/sales guys :D).

Fuck me, putting your foot to the floor in an SS Camaro and hearing the engine roar is sweet. Too bad the rear window visibility sucks balls :(.

Not worrying about practicalities of life? 2010 Honda Accord SE V6 coupe in gunmetal grey (there's a gorgeous one at the local dealer at home) or an S2000 in yellow.

Mart, seriously. A Streetwise, a fucking Streetwise? The regular 25 was a shit knock off of a Honda Civic with dodgey lights, but the Streetwise is utter cack. It's the motoring equivalent of giving a pipe & carpet slippers racing stripes to appeal to the "kids"

At least the MR2 redeems you. Especially if it's a turbo.

What I really want is a Volvo 850 Estate T-5, but finding an unmolested manual one that hasn't been driven into the ground is hard :( Although it has the downside of being practical as well as sporty!

Yeah I somehow missed the $15 price point we were going for here. :)

I would be quite happy with an E46 for sure. Almost bought an E46 330Xi Last year but decided to wait until my car is paid off and get something a little newer.
