Fucking badass song, best thing they've done in ages, IMO. Cantrell and Kim Thayil both nail a big part of what made the old Seattle scene so cool. They both can take one simple riff, ride it for an entire song, and still make it work.

"Stone" is fucking great, I was stoked when I first heard that one. The rest of the album didn't grab me as much though, but I really didn't give it much time when it came out.

That's really nice, I really like AIC. Weirdly enough, I've just got my strat back from the tech; one of the things he did was to replace the bridge humbucker with a Dimarzio Mo' Joe which seems to manage that huge fuzzy sound perfectly.

I think Stone and the rest of the album are just crushing. It's modern but it still sounds fairly 90's...more so than Black Gives Way To Blue. I love how they used the same drum samples they used on the old albums. It makes it feel more familiar, but still sonically the album is great too.

The bass tone on Stone hits like a sledgehammer too. Always been a huge fan of these guys and I think the last two albums are great in their own ways. They aren't up to the same level as their older stuff but still are miles ahead of most of the crap created these days.
