Please help me get rid of this crap. I HATE U2.
I use icloud, and I guess U2 gave away their new one on iTunes, in which all my devices now have it?
Did anyone else get this rubbish? Is there something I can turn off to avoid this in the future?
This problem is serious... U2 played while I had my phone on shuffle today. I CANNOT have this.

Ugh
It's in my iTunes Match, but it didn't automatically download.
I must have something turned on somewhere that automatically dL this crap. I don't care if it's free.

How do get get rid of music in the cloud? Is it even possible?

Yeah you can hide purchases, which I assume would apply in this case. I've gotta run some errands, but if you don't figure it out beforehand, I'll find it in iTunes.

EDIT

Here. Try this:

Hate to laugh at your pain but this is awesome.:rofl::rofl:

I feel the exact same way about U2.
I know the feeling. I was going through my iTunes radio and I swear, I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
I like Apple, but this was a really dumb maneuver.
Must be a demographic thing because U2 also makes me irrationally filled with rage.

I'd say it wasn't entirely stupid. They gave a product away to consumers for free, got publicity and now officially U2 can claim the highest album sales of all time considering that so many people would have collected it and technically every copy of the album was paid for. So yeah, Thriller is no longer the biggest selling album of all time it would seem.

It's a really dick move for the music industry. Almost no one knows that Apple is paying U2 for this, and so it just reinforces for people that music should be free. Plus, because it automatically downloaded for some people who didn't want it, it artificially inflated that number. It's like when Prince was "giving away" copies of his album with ticket sales (price of CD was included in ticket price) so he hit the charts with an album no one liked or wanted.

Nine Inch Nails giving away a free album on their own website with little fuss made about it felt a lot better, though even then Trent's kind have gone back on that stuff, saying the experiment didn't really work. He noticed a huge difference in promotion and support on tour when they went independent and gave their music away.
If you don't have your iDevice set to automatically download purchased content, I dont think it hits your device, but it shows up as a purchased item in iTunes.

It didnt show on my iPhone until I actually downloaded it. Myself, I don't mind U2. Not a huge fan, but I dig some of their stuff. I haven't listened to this yet to see if I like it or not. The version I heard at the Apple event was meh.

I think it's fine Apple is giving it away for a short time, but they should have set it as purchased for everyone who had an iTunes account before the expiration date, and anyone after it is set to not purchased.

I hate Apple and have been loling at all the iphones hating on this but to say they are the highest selling album of all time by forcing it on millions of people for free to do that is a proper cunt move. Fuck them

:agreed: I get the exact same feeling.
Yeah, I can't really put my finger on why, but I can't stand U2.
I dig their earlier stuff, but they're kind of genericorporate now, and there's not a lot of fire there.
I refer you to South Park, they pretty much nailed it on the head with this whole episode.
