I'm not an expert on valves, this being my first amp of that sort, but when I turned on my amp the right hand poweramp valve popped flashed blue and after a short time the blue faded. Now I'm left with a crackling and an occasional popping noise which leads me to believe that that valve on its way out (despite being no more than a month old and only having one gig and a handful of practices played with it :noway: ), but again I literally don't know what I'm doing when it comes to valves so I thought I'd plunge my metal straw into the brains of those more well informed members and suck out the juicy knowledge.

Sometimes, you just get a bad tube. Replace it, and see if it happens again.

What brand are they?

Check with Engl, they might be within the warranty period.

Most amp companies have 30 to 90 day warranties on tubes. You might be in luck.

Actually, I just assumed you re-tubed with Engl tubes. I didn't know you meant it was the amp that was only a month old.
