Not only does it sound like a good movie, it also is a tasty beverage with negligible sugar content, no artificial sweeteners, and pornloads of antioxidants according to the label. It's also got what plants crave.

Anyone else? I'm an American consumer whore so sometimes water just isn't good enough.

But plants don't crave all electrolytes. Sodium is an electrolyte, and plants abhor salt. (Unless it's a salt tolerant species, and even then, they only tolerate it.) The action of salt actually causes a chemical reaction whereby water is drawn through the cell wall of the plant, and plants depend on water filling those cells to maintain turgor.

Plants do however crave potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus. Potassium is a terrific electrolyte, and critical in humans as well. especially if you've exerted yourself (or drank too much), as you lose those vital electrolytes from sweating. Lack of K can lead to cramps, as the muscles need the K to maintain the potassium ion channels throughout the cellular makeup. An even better source of potassium is pickles, and a) I always crave them after drinking, as well as b) they are actually making sport pickle juice!

Sometimes I just like to nerd out. Speaking of Vitamin Water, I see they're marketing it now as a good drink for hangovers. :lol: It should work terrifically for that purpose, I must say.

I happened to be in a Cumberland farms so I bought one of each. It tasted slightly different but better than any other "diet" type drink.

I am stumped tho how they claim zero calories but it has 4 carbs? It should be at least 16 calories. :scratch:

I just did a really hard lifting session... and pickles sound DELICIOUS.

Off to nom.

EIDT: I think they claim zero calories because stevia and the other artificial (but purportedly natural) sweeteners in the drink are not metabolized by your body as energy. Unlike aspartame, for example, stevia is not hundreds or thousands of times as sweet as sugar, so one must use similar quantities as sugar to get similar sweetness. Hence I guess there are actually a few grams of stevia in the bottle, but the calories round down to zero or are truly zero.
