These guys used to be cool emo nu-metal. They had catchy riffs and a unique sound, even if they helped spawn a generation of hacks. Now they're boring electronica?

I liked Meteora a lot.

This is the single. They've descended to Mike Shinoda creating beats for Chester to whine over. There isn't anything properly resembling a riff to be found.

OK, fine, the coolest emo nu-metal that ever existed.

Simply put, they had catchy riffs, a fresh sound, an interesting blend of electronics into a stale genre, and Meteora was a hell of a sophomore release. Maybe it had something to do with me being 19 when it came out, but I dug it. I find the lyrics nothing short of whiny any more, but it was well-crafted music.
