Yeah, i thought it might be a hurdy gurdy... maybe it's a busted one that doesn't work, so he's bowing it instead.

Yeah, could be, or that he's going for that sound, but without the drone going. He definitely has the cover taken off.

It's a really beautiful sounding instrument.

I remember she got a lot of critical acclaim when she did that album in the mid '90s. Kind of hard to judge from a Tower Records appearance, but it's way too precious for my tastes.

Still sounds way too much like Tori Amos, but it's at least less "precious".
