In this case. Yes.

In almost every other case. No.

This is a damnable offense! I can't even find a working third party app to do it either. The only app I found is Sharepoints, which seems to have been abandoned and crashes on Snow Leopard.

Even if you were able to (i.e. using Mac OS X Server), when you restart it you would have to unshare and reshare it. Something about it's broke which is why you can't do it freely in client OS X. Maybe once that's fixed....

I'm not sure if it's because the simple point of the disk identifier changing after rebooting or what, but it breaks after restarting and you end up with a folder, instead of a symbolic link, in your /Volumes folder.

What are you sharing to? I would have thought it would be achievable with Samba in some way.
iMac to Mac Mini. I'll futz with Samba, not a bad idea.

Stu

It worked, but you have to actually edit smb.conf.

OS X is as powerful as it is a PITA sometimes :)
