I dunno, I think the acoustic version is pretty badass too, minus James' usual typical horrible singing.

The first vid is a young kid, the second is an aging man. The first vid is fucking SICK, though. :metal:

Hopefully, when I'm James' age, I'll still be administering the 1985 version :metal:

I knew this was going to be a Metallica thread as soon as I saw the thread title and who posted the thread.

Lars needs to retire, he can't keep up with James or Rob anymore. Nor can he keep proper rhythm. He totally ruined that concert for me...

Metal is one genera that it wont work with. If dave mathews writes a song when hes 20, and performs it again when hes 45, i dont think anyone would notice too much a differance.

But with metal you have to have intensity, and if you cant bring it, you need to hang it up.

I think James sounds much better live (vocals) - much better than the CD's - no matter if it's "live 89" , or "'09"... I always preferred the live versions :yesway:

While i'm not a big maiden fan, they definatly still have the old intensity:yesway:
You're not a fan because you've never seen them live. It's like getting hit by a coal dump truck hauling a crane that is swinging a wrecking ball the size of a house.

I have. Its too happy upbeat for me. I'm more into dark, sinister, and just general shit that you cant even understand what they are playing:lol:

I think growing up on them makes some of you older guys on board with them more than us younger guys can.

When i was growing up (born in 82) i was into metallica as a kid, so i have heard those songs a million times. It was a brick and morter foundation for my love for metal, but when i listen back to those songs(old metallica's) i doubt i would ever listen to them today other than the fact that i grew up on them.

With maiden, since i dont have an attachment to them, their music just sounds too simple compared to all the complex shit out there today. And once again, i know their songs are 25 years old, but i dont have the attachment to them like some of you guys do, so i just hear simple 25 year old songs.
