I think growing up on them makes some of you older guys on board with them more than us younger guys can.
When i was growing up (born in 82) i was into metallica as a kid, so i have heard those songs a million times. It was a brick and morter foundation for my love for metal, but when i listen back to those songs(old metallica's) i doubt i would ever listen to them today other than the fact that i grew up on them.
With maiden, since i dont have an attachment to them, their music just sounds too simple compared to all the complex shit out there today. And once again, i know their songs are 25 years old, but i dont have the attachment to them like some of you guys do, so i just hear simple 25 year old songs.
