Metal is one genera that it wont work with. If dave mathews writes a song when hes 20, and performs it again when hes 45, i dont think anyone would notice too much a differance.

But with metal you have to have intensity, and if you cant bring it, you need to hang it up.

You're not a fan because you've never seen them live. It's like getting hit by a coal dump truck hauling a crane that is swinging a wrecking ball the size of a house.

I have. Its too happy upbeat for me. I'm more into dark, sinister, and just general shit that you cant even understand what they are playing:lol:

I think growing up on them makes some of you older guys on board with them more than us younger guys can.

When i was growing up (born in 82) i was into metallica as a kid, so i have heard those songs a million times. It was a brick and morter foundation for my love for metal, but when i listen back to those songs(old metallica's) i doubt i would ever listen to them today other than the fact that i grew up on them.

With maiden, since i dont have an attachment to them, their music just sounds too simple compared to all the complex shit out there today. And once again, i know their songs are 25 years old, but i dont have the attachment to them like some of you guys do, so i just hear simple 25 year old songs.
